Why Adobe Eliminated the Annual Performance Review

June 1, 2016

What a great story about why Adobe eliminated the annual performance review!

Sometimes, corporate bureaucracy has purpose and achieves a goal, but sometimes, outdated concepts do more damage than good.

The events that transpired, which lead to the end of Adobe’s performance audits were basically a very valuable fluke.

One of the things that is most interesting about the article is that the numbers showed a significant spike in resignations after review time. It further explains that the process only allowed for 15% of employees to be labeled “high performers.”

I don’t know about you, but if I put my heart and soul into the goals and initiatives of a company, then get brought to an office, sat down  and told that I’m not a “high performer” I might start looking for other opportunities as well.

There is a lot to be learned from this article from Forbes. Check it out and consider how your employees could benefit from changes in your review processes at work.
